The New Highway 11 will not pass through the town of Sundridge and South River which will be disappointing. Tourists travel through this area everyday on their way to their cottage, cottage rental or other accommodations.
The Almaguin Highlands is a very popular destination for all kinds of tourists. With the new Highway coming through some businesses may close down because they will no longer get the tourist traffic. A lot of businesses in this area depend on tourism to stay in business.
My favorite part of travelling is going through small towns to see unique things. If you can't see these unique things from the Highway then if often gets missed.
When you are travelling up north make sure you take time to get off the highway and travel 5 minutes out of your way to see some pretty awesome attractions. It is always fun to stop for an ice cream, check out some shops or just stop to enjoy the local parks and lakes.
